HYPE Hits $82 as Multicoin Moves $20M to Coinbase

Hyperliquid’s native token, $HYPE, has become one of the strongest performers in the current crypto rally, climbing to a fresh all-time high around $82 and gaining roughly 38% over the past week. The move has pushed HYPE into the spotlight as traders increasingly focus on high-performance decentralized trading infrastructure and the possibility of greater U.S. regulatory access.

The rally gained significant momentum after U.S. President Donald Trump said regulators were working toward bringing Hyperliquid into the United States in a compliant manner. That development helped accelerate buying interest in HYPE, with the token also benefiting from a broader risk-on move across the crypto market. HYPE recently recorded more than $2 billion in 24-hour trading volume, highlighting the strength of the current market activity.

However, the rally comes alongside an important development involving Multicoin Capital. A wallet linked to the investment firm transferred 308,884 HYPE, worth approximately $19.8 million, to Coinbase Prime in a seven-hour period. Additional transfers followed, including another 172,710 HYPE worth roughly $10.15 million. Overall, Multicoin has moved more than $100 million worth of HYPE to Coinbase Prime since February 2026.

Large transfers to an exchange can attract attention because they potentially increase available selling liquidity. That does not necessarily mean Multicoin is preparing to sell, but traders are clearly watching the firm's wallet activity closely. Previous large HYPE deposits linked to Multicoin were followed by price declines, making the latest movement an important short-term risk factor even as HYPE continues to set new highs.

The bigger question is whether HYPE's strength can continue without triggering a major profit-taking wave. If buyers absorb the additional supply and HYPE holds above its breakout zone, the token could remain one of the market's strongest altcoin performers. Conversely, sustained exchange inflows from major holders could create selling pressure and lead to sharper volatility.

The development is also relevant for $BTC and the wider crypto market. Bitcoin has recently climbed toward the $80,000 region, recording a major weekly advance, while Ethereum has also significantly outperformed Bitcoin over the past seven days.

A strong Bitcoin trend generally provides a healthier backdrop for higher-beta altcoins such as HYPE. If $BTC maintains momentum and risk appetite remains elevated, capital could continue rotating into major altcoins and crypto infrastructure plays. Recent gains across $ZEC, $BCH, $ADA, $DOGE, $LINK and other assets suggest that the current move is broader than HYPE alone.

For traders, the HYPE setup therefore presents two opposing forces: powerful momentum and increasing whale-related supply concerns. A sustained breakout could reinforce confidence in the broader altcoin market, while a sharp HYPE reversal could remind traders that even the strongest performers remain vulnerable to profit-taking.

For now, $HYPE remains firmly in the spotlight. The combination of a record price, rising trading activity, regulatory optimism and significant institutional wallet movements makes it one of the most closely watched altcoins as the broader crypto market approaches a critical phase.
